1990 sentra fuel problem

1990 sentra 168000 miles. The car will loose power. When it does You can hear sound from the air filter. Sounds like to much fuel is being injected to the motor. But when this happens I can turn the car off, restart and its fine for about 3 days. HELP!

Check for plugged fuel filter.

Is air filter clean?

Does fuel pump make noise when idleing?
