I am from South Africa and I not sure what you guys call the Nissan Sabre, its a right hand side drive hatch and has the GA16de engine.
My problem is that we experienced some heavy rain and the water level rose to about 3/4 the height of the fender, the interior got flooded.I couldnt start the car for a fews days and when it did start the idling was erratic and the fuel mixture was rich. This happened about two months ago and I cant get anyone to fix the problem!!! I did get the car to drive for a couple days but the problem soon returned, during this drivable period the engine idling would drop if the central locking was engaged. The alarm and immobiliser has also stopped working.
I would drop the fuel tank and drain it then refill with fuel and some rubbing alcohol or fuel drier either will work also change the fuel filter, spark plugs, oil and oil filter. you may also want to change out the ECU (computer) if this dose nothing it may have been hurt. As for your car under the hood there should be a metal plat riveted to the firewall on there will be info let us Know what chassis it is B12 B13 what not and if you can give pics we love to see foriegn nissans. Hope this helps some
What year is the car? I am thinking it is a variant of either the Sunny/ Sentra or Pulsar. Nissan did not start using the GA16DE internationally until 1991... so it would have to be a B13+ model.
In North America, these Nissans have electronic control boxes usually located under a front seat, shrouded in plastic. Does your particular car have any electronic engine control module(s) under the seats? If so, and if the interior did indeed flood, then you're due for a new box.
I bought a sweet '84 Sentra wagon back in '88 from a dealership. I was puzzled as to why the interior was so damp and the windows never cleared of fog, as well as having a wet backside on getting home. 2 weeks later, the car stopped running altogether. I took it to a real Nissan dealership and they discovered the engine control box was dead. I asked if shampooing would kill it and they instantly answered 'yes', and that they discovered shampoo residue in the box. I called the other dealership and they bought me a used module: $125, compared to $750 new at the time. Now I can get them all day long for $10 each. Hope this helps, and best of luck, in spite of your misfortune.

That would be my next thought, swap the ecu and/or go thru all your relays and conections unplug everything and look for corrosion and what not, do you have any power to the car, it turns over and sounds fairly normal the lights work and so on? The N chassis that was the the chassis code for our NX coupes right sold world wide as pulsars and other varients? Nice looking car. hope you get her running again

I think that the only thing left for me to do is replace the ECU and see whether that solves the problem! The TPS voltage measures 4.7volts so I think thats okay but I am not sure about the voltage to the air flow meter because it measures 12volts?! I think this voltage is supposed to be about 5 volts as well which is supplied by the ECU.

I will keep everyone updated!!
12 volts at the air flow meter is not right. And yes...it's a Pulsar.
