Unhappy Issues With Wiring That Might Of Been Changed

Hi,

im new to this forum so i don't know if im posting in the right place or if anyone could help me.

But, i have a 1986, nissan pintara GX Model.... i bought the car 2nd hand, and it has sum dodgy for radio put in it, but that's not my point they've just cut the harness off the bak of the stock stereo and just twisted and electrical tapped the wires to the back of the other radios harness, but then they've put a joining connector from 2 seperate wires on the clock to my radio which appears to me to be for when you turn on the lights so the radio dims, it's got me why they did that, and my second problem is that the fuses aren't right for the radio i don't have a power antenna, and when i pull out the fuse to "Room Lamp...." and wat ever it says, it turns off my radio and as there isn't a fuse in the power antenna radio part.... as soon as i put one in there i hear a clicking of sum relay, and i just get alot of crakle from the cones (speakers) n it's really bad. is there anyway to rectify this issue n resort this problem out?

does any one know what might be the problem here or what might be going on?

and can anyone provide me with where to look for the relays i've got the wiring diagrams for my car, but im uncertain as to where an accessory relay might be or something for that park.... but the problem is im going to be puttin in a pioneer head unit, and im not sure where im supposed to be connecting it to or to what wires as everything seems to be soo messed up..

i hope i haven't lost anyone here.

if soo plz feel free to ask me Questions, and i might be able to alaberate.

Thanks,

Michael Rowland

If I understand correctly you need to buy a stock harness from Nissan for that model and then re-wire and solder it to the old wiring and make it right. You don't want shorts if your buying a new HU. Your wiring diagram should help you when you wire the harness's together for the power antenna and dimming problem. Then buy a harness that is Nissan/Pioneer compatible and when you buy your HU you will have to wire the HU harness to that. Then just plug in and play.
I would also check out your fuse diagram for problem amps for the proper function.

Ok, thanks that helps heaps, i just have one problem that i'm scratching my head over and that is, the wires all don't seem to add up as per the wiring diagram like wires are all over the shop and i don't understand why when i put in a 10 amp fuse into the socket for power antenna audio, my deck that's present heats up something cronic and makes alot of crackling noises and another thing i've noticed is they've replaced the standard 10amp fuse for the room lamp etc. to a 20 amp as that's what my radio seems to be coming off, as when i remove that fuse (room lamp) all that happens is the radio doesn't work some part of it does but the power side doesn't and if im thinking correctly that can't be right as the wiring harnsess should go back through the fuse block and through the accessory relay and then to the audio fuse but i don't see that being the case as the power antenna fuse seems to be causing the issues of crackling.

does anyone know what might be goin on, i think my car has been butchered with or something?
