Talking Couple Questions on Sub Wiring, Amps, and MB Subs...I Don't Speak German...

My buddy just got 3 MB Quart DWE254s. They are 10 inches and rated at 250 continuous. Now he wants an amp. Since he is on a budget, I reccomended a Hifonics Brutus BF1500D or PG, or something in the likes. According to MB Quart's website, their impendence it '2x4' ohms. The manual is all in German and since you guys know your stuff, we decided to run it by the garus. So I have three main questions.

-What amp would you reccomend?
-According to the impendence rating, we can run them at 2 or 4 ohms, correct? Since the manual is in German, it offers little help.
-If anyone has had these, what are the specs on the box or what would you reccomend?

if its a dual 4 ohm sub, which it seems it is by the 2x4 config you listed, then the voice coils can be run in parallel to present a 2 ohm load, or they can be run in a series to present an 8 ohm load. 4 ohm configurations are not possible on dual 4 ohm voice coil subs since BOTH VOICE COILS MUST BE USED.

I was expecting it to be a 2 ohm load parallel, but not being able to read German, I wast positive and the 2x4 was somewhat misleading. Obviously, 2 ohms will probably be the most feasable. Thanks.

Any suggestions on amps for my bud? Honestly, he does like good quality and good sound but he doesnt have a boat load of cash to spend. I've always heard the Hifonics are good for the money and they claim 1000 RMS at 2 ohms (although I would imagine that is over rated) and it claims to have a regulated power supply (which my KX1200.1 does not).

the one thing your not thinking about on the amp is that you have 3 of them, and if you bridge 3 2 Ohm loads to an amp its going to see closer to a 1Ohm load and is going to try to put out more power, i hate wiring up 3 subs, 1,2,or 4 for me! but the BX1500D is a bit overrated, it puts out about 1300-1400 rms @ 1Ohm so i figure about 900 or so @ 2, which would be fine. the newer hifonics amps (2k5 models) like the BX1605D arent suposed to be overrated, but i havnt gotten the chance to test one out yet, but they would still be a great buy for around 250 on ebay and would suit your friend fine
