underground audio

ok, i have seen many people talking about these companys i have never heard of before. many of you swear by them and the prices i have heard have blown me away (for the quality you claim they have)

so this thread is for all of you to list links or phone numbers to any and all under ground (not carried at best buy, tweeter, crutchfield) audio companys.

this can be a great resource for anyone wanting to upgrade their system with quality goods without paying an arm and a leg for alpine or eclipes.

It's not that they're "underground", it's that they don't want to kill their reputation for quality by offering their products in the worst audio stores known to man. They are sold in brick and mortar shops, but only those that actually know what they're talking about, which is definitely not going to be tweeter, car toys, etc.

This has got links to most of the manufacturers out there, but I'm sure I forgot a few:

i didnt mean under ground in an offencive way, they just arnt main stream, many good things can come of this. they give high quality parts at a low price (you are not paying for them to advertise)

say *insert newbs name* has just gotten $200 for his b-day, he would most likly go to tweeter or best buy and get a set of sony x-plod full range that are far to over priced. when in fact he could have saved alittle more and gotten and mid grade set of components from one of these high quality companys. and be on his way to having a kick ass system down the road.

thanks for posting, im going to surf that site now

One of the main reasons they tend to cost less is the companies dont rely on normal television or newspaper advertisements. They rely on car audio competitions and word of mouth. No ad costs = cheaper prices for us

Oh and I believe I was the one who originally listed those brands you posted above. Read below:

Soundsplinter
Ascendant Audio
Adire
Diamond Audio
Crystal Mobile
Treo
Ground Zero
DLS

yes he was was the poster but i have mentioned many of those companies in the past. a couple a weeks ago i purchased a Ascendant Audio Avalanche 15 and couldn't be happier. I brought a sub for 300 bones that whups the "almighty" 13.5 JL W7 in just about everyway imaginable except for maybe small box requirements. its louder since the 5mm xmax advantage the w7 has can't make up for the cone area advantage the 15 has over the 13, sounds better and doesn't give music a "signature" sound for the sq purists out there and has a much better high end so it can make a subbass-midbass transition much better (it does it pretty good in my current setup bieng 6.5 coax running off deck power) so i would say its worth it to buy the underground companies. i would also agree underground would be a good way to catorgorize them. think about a underground artist, often times better than the mainstream stuff out there, hard to find other than the internet, doesn't have advertisements in tv/ magazine ect but still can be found in select shops/record stores but no national chains/record stores. can't u view these companies in the same light? funny thing is that my local audio store started selling RE. I doubt they are a authorized dealer since they don't have a RE banner/sticker in there window like the other brands they are authorized to sell and i wouldn't call them above buying the stuff of the internet for the direct price and then selling for the msrp since the owner just looks shady, they also sell bootleg cd's movies and porn and probally weight to on the side.
