Ebay/ unauthorized dealers

Ive been looking for a new hu. Ebay seems to have alot of good deals but they are not authorized dealers. How many people have bought something like that I dont want to have problem with it. any help would be appreciated. Im looking into a clarion or kenwood excelon hu. The kenwood would be a direct swap and the clarion would match the tvs my son wants for the headrests

As far as car audio stuff goes, I've bought 2 headunits, 2 sets of components, and 2 subs from ebay. Never had a problem with any of it

check out indoaudio, he's a pretty reliable seller, and he offers his own warranty for the stuff he sells (but I've heard he takes a while on warranty work, still beats other sellers that have no warranty at all).

I got my HU off ebay over a year ago and have had no problems with it.

I bought my Alpine CDA-7995 off ebay. I'm not sure what happened before it's first use, but it turned out the RCAs were no good. There was no warranty and he, of course wouldn't take it back. I was just lucky that EMW was able to gimme a trade with a 7995 he had in stock.

So most people have had no problem that is a good sign. Was the alpine refurbished or something? Now for my choices what do you guys think or should I just start a new thread for more replys

Just make sure before you get anything off of ebay to check the seller's feedback and make sure you don't see what you're buying on a recent list of what that seller just bought. I had problem with a cat-back exhaust off ebay. Advertised as one thing then got a completely different exhaust shipped to me...on purpose.

I bought my amp and all my wiring off ebay, not to mention a guitar amp and a video card for my computer plus loads of other stuff...never had a problem with it, just make sure you read EVERYTHING and do your research on the seller

for headunit choices it all depends on what you want it to do, mp3s, CD-Rs or just plain CDs... etc. I think that would be the best way to start a search.
