dammit. what size is the alt on a GA16 anyway. i thought it was like 60 or 80 amps. i know its 80 for a sr20. would a SR20 alt work on a GA? i really don't trust the puny little fact alt to charge keep 2 battery charged, power my bx1000d at full power, any lighting i may do and still have a good amount of headroom. guess there isn't a cheap way around getting a HO audio-oriented alt.

i thought both of the alternators (GA and SR) were both 60 Amp.

I hope you dont have the gain on that bx1000d all the way up, because if you are...your amp is clipping severely and your ruining the speakers that it is running.

Scroll almost all the way down, Bracket A285...you can use this to adapt GM and ford alternators to Nissan vehicles.

Then you can use one of these alternators.

I talked to some one at world finals last year, I think it was the rep for Ohio Generator he said that they have a Nissan HO Alternator. But its like $600.

I have to double check, but I thought the SR alternator was 80 amps.
I also thought I read that the B15 SE-R alternators were around 110-115 amps. I'll find out what I can.

punkrocka a got a little bit more knowledge about caraudio than you give me credit for, probally alot more than most other 18 year olds. when i say full power i mean playing a test tone not having the amp turned all the way up. my gain is not even 1/4 way up and i'm thinking about getting a balanced line driver so i can turn it all the way down. the highoutput alt sites makes me think you need to be a dealer to order from them as in you have to buy a bunch. but i'm glad to see a prefab custom (oxymoron) bracket is available to adapt gm alts for nissan. i was thinking of getting a racing alt but then i heard that they charge at high voltages 18-24v. i just got a idea, if i'm not mistaken mustang alts are 130 amps so i could get a factory v8 mustang alt and get that bracket but would if fit size wise would be the question. i don't really need really high output i just need about 110-150 amps. the fact alt would probally be alright with a big 3 upgrade and a deep cycle but i don't like the idea of my alt only bieng 60 amps and the fuse on my sub amp 60 amps also.
