In-car video cam mounting?

I'm just throwing this out to you guys in hopes of getting some ideas on how to solidly mount my video camera in my 200SX. My problem is that I have a Sony VX2000, which is on the large side and is one of the heaviest camcorders around, so I need to secure it well. I'm also looking to have it located on the passenger side of the car as far back and as high as possible, to catch all the action. Unfortunately I haven't found too many solid mounting points (existing bolts, screws, etc) for something like that. I've seen the headrest and suction-cup type mounts and I don't think they will work for my application. I think this will have to be a custom job and I'm hoping some of you have dealt with such a situation before. Thanks in advance, and any ideas would be appreciated!

this basically is what im going to make for a camera mount.. find your measurements between the 2 poles for hte headres on the pasenger seat, use either wood, or metal, and make a brakcet, with a screw that will fit your camera mounting.. whalah, have fun

Thank you for your diagram, Holy200SX. I have considered that idea but determined it wouldn't work because the camera would b emounted too far forward in the car. At its widest view, the cam would only catch a portion of the windshield if it were mounted near one of the headrests. I need the cam mounted toward the rear of the cabin just to catch the whole windshield! If there were headrests on the rear seats it might be a viable solution though... I appreciate your input, thanks.

you could rig a mount from the back seat brakette system. If I remember correctly when I removed my back seat you could just slip something under the seat and have a hing on one end of it and that will allow you to get a wider angle. Or you could just use the ol one man trippod mounting system.
