I've had no trouble with mine but I hear the factory radios are not very good. If it's not a Fosgate setup, you might want to consider an aftermarket head unit. If you're wanting a cheaper solution there are usually a lot of the factory units on eBay.

The stock CD player in my 02 Sentra is toast due to playing burnt cd's. In the owners manual it states that it does not play burnt cd's and cd-r's

Update: i called the dealership where i bought the car like three weeks ago, the guy walked me through steps of how to "fix" the problem, first thing he had me do was disconect the bat for atleast 15 mins to reset the stereo. i did that and still no luck, then he had me get a pair of needle nose and try to just pull out the cd which i did, come to find out i thought i had put in a burnt cd but i didnt it was a legit cd, so then he said after that disconect the bat again to reset the tray or w/e. so i did that and still no luck, so now i dont have a cd in the player, and when i try to put a cd in it doesnt even go half way in, its like theres something blocking it, does anyone have any suggestions for me??

It's trashed. Replace it.
