1994 Audio Question

My car is a 1994 Maxima GXE and I know this sounds ridiculous but I'm contemplating changing my non-Bose system to a factory OEM Bose system....what's all involved with the change-over?

Thanks for the reply and I'm sure there is wiring to do and parts to get but is there a write-up somewhere to describe what is needed and how to go about doing it.....I've searched but can't find anything...your help is much appreciated.

you'd be better off buying quality aftermarket parts. will be much easier and cheaper in the long run than installing a 10+yr old Bose system that is notorious for dying and costing $300 a pop to fix.

You could spend the $400 on aftermarket stuff once and never have to worry about it again... and you'll have better sound.

Thanks for your insight Matt93SE and I know you're right...I currently have a Kenwood KRC 309S radio/cassette deck (cassette player just spits out cassette now without playing) with original speakers (non-bose) and the sound is ok....I guess what I had in mind was to make my Max look somewhat original with a Bose sound system...btw will any single/double din Bose fit the opening in the dash of the 1994 Max?

any of the bose units will FIT in the dash- it's a standard size double-din opening... the problem is the wiring on the back. the 3rd and 4th gens I think use the same harness, but the 5th gen are different.

In that case then I'm sure there will be adapter plugs available to fit the odd size harness connectors...what about the Bose speaker situation...will separate wires have to be run to accommodate the amp at each individual speaker....thanks for assisting me.
