04 Frontier needs better sound

I want the bass equivalent to that of a top of the line model car(no car in particular). My wife has a 05 Elantra, and its audio system is just standard in all of the elantra models and it sounds great(decent bass for what I want). My 04 frontier is lacking. I just installed a new headunit and some three way pioneers in the doors. I don't want a "bumping system", just one that has some decent bass. Should I get some top of the line 6x9's or a small sub. Again, I have no interest what so ever in a "rattle the bolts off my truck" system. Thanks in advance for any advice and tips.

My suggestion is one 8" or 10" bazooka type tube subwoofer. That should be enough. You can even get one with the amp, box, & speaker all-in-one.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Any particular brand that you would buy? Just curious what you and everyone else thinks is worth the money.

More brands did make these at one time. No longer it seems. Though you may find an old used "Kicker" one, or some other popular name brand on ebay at times. The two brands I found were "Audiobahn" & "Bazooka". Bazookas are well known, they may have been the originals, but cant say for sure. From word of mouth I hear Audiobahn is quality stuff. But I cant speak from experience. These are a few that look like they would do just what you need. Not high wattage screw removers, hahah'. But will put some bass in your cab deffinately.
