As the CEO / Admin of a big Nissan forum, I gotta say this was a poorly-thought out decision on someone's part...

Advertisers deserve better, and members certainly deserve MUCH better.

I don't want this to come off as "carpetbagging", but if there are some infrastructure issues you guys need a hand with, I've got unlimited resources at my disposal to assist.

Your members obviously want a family-oriented, close-knit, one-stop resource site for their Nissan needs - Why not consider the possibility of joining forces?

Economies of scale are a powerful thing, and we've vowed to our members NEVER to entertain corporate intervention from some damn magazine publisher or web conglomerate.

Admins / mods, feel free to contact me if I can assist in ANY way - I'm always willing to help a fellow admin out.

You're right.

Let's look at this:

"Further my business" implies I'll make money if you come to this meet. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I'm spending $3000-$3500 to put on an event to bring Nissan people together, regardless of what forum they're "loyal" to.

I'm also picking people up from the airport, feeding them, and putting up people in my house.

So consider that posting an "outreach" to people who might not otherwise know about this event (which is and has always been a great time).

Trust me - I have NO need for "free" advertising. Our traffic and financial solvency is what allows us to offer assistance to forums that are experiencing financial difficulties... Anything less would be a disservice to Nissan enthusiasts.

Besides, if your moderators don't like it, they're welcome to delete it. We'd still be glad to see you at Firebird on the 18th.

I'll save you a parking space and a hamburger off my grille.
