I am new to this forum. So any help/tips are appreciated. I have a Nisaan Maxima 2000 with climate control and here are some of the issues that i am facing.

1) Heat doesn't seem to kick in until the temp is above 81, anything below 81 blows cold air

2) The buttons that operate the horizontal and vertical motions of the sun roof appear to have their wires crossed. I am able to control both horizontal and vertical motions with either of the switches.

3) When I start the car, the rpm is at 1500. Driving the car for about 15 mins brings it down to 800 or so. Not sure if this is normal. It used to be 1000 rpm earlier when i started the car.

4) poor mileage. almost 15 mpg

What kind of service would you guys suggest to resolve the above problems and how much can i expect to be charged for this?

I am assuming that its best to go to a dealer in case of problems described above. If not, are there any good places in the Bay area that you can suggest to me?

Hmm. Not sure about the auto climate control or the sunroof. I'd have to look at the wiring diagrams-- maybe you can do so yourself if you have the factory service manual laying around, or maybe someone's posted it on .org...

High idle-- does the car continue to read cold the whole time the idle is high, or does the car warm up and retain the high idle?

If the car takes a long time to warm up and the idle is high because of this, the thermostat may be stuck. Replacing it isn't too difficult, but you have to drain the radiator and stuff.

Fuel economy is impossible to judge without knowing you driving habits. If you're doing short trips on city streets and are always in traffic, 15mpg may be fairly normal for that type of driving. (I saw around 18mpg city in a friend's modified 4th gen automatic). Failing o2 sensors may also be a reason for poor fuel economy-- although there are many reasons, and it's hard to say which with the information you've provided.

Might be the maf for the idle issue, does it smell like rotton eggs??
