How much to pay for a 2002 max...?

So,

I'm looking at a few maxima, mostly in the range of 2002 SE, automatic, leather, 75k miles or so.

Edmunds and KBB all give different values. Here's what I see. For a typical car that's in good shape, what would you expect to pay? I'm in the DC metro area.

Edmunds TMV Average: $8179
Edmunds TMV Clean: $9876

KBB Fair: $9620
KBB Good: $10,645

Obviously this depends on the car, but let's just assume everything works, and the body is in slightly above average condition.

Also, if anyone has been offered tradein prices from Carmax or other dealerships, that would be a good starting point for negotiation as well.

I'm guessing CarMax would offer something like $7000 ?

Realistically, in the real world, expect to pay anywhere from $12-16K. This is of course, you buy from a dealership...
