Painted headlamps?

I saw an 03' Maximan on cardomain.com where the owner painted the inside of the headlamp housing black. It looked really nice on his white car.

I also have pearl white 03' and I am considering painting the inside of my lamps white to match the car.

Anyone on the forum try this? Any problems? Pics would be awsome if available.

Thers tons of pics out there of people who've done this. I've done it several times myself. Its pretty simple to do.
Just take the headlights off the car, remover all bulbs, screws and clips, pop it in the oven for about 10 minutes at 225-250 degrees and pull the outer clear lense off.
Then all you do it mask off the chrome reflectors and anything else you dont want painted and go to town.
Remember that prepping the area to be painted is very important. Use rubbing alchohol to clean the area to be painted all dirt and finger prints will show later if not clean.
Prime before painting.
This is a good time to remover the orange lense for the turn signal if you like.
Paint any color...most people use black or graphite. I've never seen anyone do white on the 5th gen but it sounds interesting.
Make sure you let the paint dry completely!! This will keep the funky haze from forming on the inside of the headlight lense later.
Then remove the tape and put the lense back on. Heat in the oven again for about 5-8 minutes, then press the lense back to the housing. Let cool, replace the bulbs and re-install the lights to the car.
Hope this helps any. Good luck, post pics when youre done.
