I have searchd and came up with nothing...

I want to flush the system, and on the reservior there are two hoses (small, large) I am looking to verify which one is the supply and return hose.

I believe that the large line is the supply and the small is return ( just like in a HVAC system (water) you always restrict the leaving side to keep the coil full of liquid)

Am I correct in my thinking?

Also, about how much capacity does this system have?

I just replaced the power steering hoses on a 2000 Maxima. The large hose coming off the bottom of the tank provides fluid to the power steering pump.

I used about 3/4 of a quart of fluid to fill the system. Once you drain the fluid you'll need to bleed the system.

It is real easy- Fill up the tank and then jack up the front wheels so they are off the ground a little. With the engine off turn the steering wheel slowly from side to side about 5 times .Check the fluid level, it should have gone down some. Top off the tank and repeat the procedure one more time.

Leave the wheels off the ground and start the engine and turn the wheels another 5 times or so. Check the fluid level and top off if necessary.
