Need help for a buddy

Whats up fellow nissan people. Well first off i dont have a maxima but a friend of mine does and he took the car to the dealership for a check engine light, so when they called back telling him the quote to fix the car was 2500 bucks i was like hmmn what was on the quote. He said the exhaust was leaking out right before the cat im guessing the last cat on the car. To replace the whole exhaust cause of that for 1000 bucks and then the right reat caliper is bad and told its better to both new ones on the back for another 1000 bucks and 500 for the computer something im guessing new software or something installed in it, I think he is gretting ripped off with those prices but i wanna know if thats about the right price to fix those and i dont think the whole exhaust would need to be replace cause of a small leak before a cat. Any responces would be nice and thanks alot!!

Brakewarehouse.com ? Brakes, Brake Pads, Brake Rotors, Calipers for calipters.. that's a ridiculous price.

$1000 bucks for caliper replacement?? o_O

Take it to a competent local shop and see what they say.

Also if his car is still under the powertrain warranty, the exhaust leak may be covered.

And to address the exhaust issue, get on Maxima.Org and see if you can find a used stock exhaust. Sounds like you'd need a stock y-pipe since its before the cat (but if I were I'd get under the car and pinpoint it myself).

Regardless, those prices are insane. Those repairs can be done for way less.
