I was thinking about trading in my 97 nissan maxima 5 speed for a 2000 maxima 5 speed? Can anyone tell me if the 2000 have alot of problems??? Because my 97 with about 185000 miles is still running very strong..............

Don't know if you're still considering the trade or not, but, I had a 95 Maxima with 234,000 miles on it that ran and drove perfectly and traded for a 00 Maxima with a little over 100,000 miles on it. In the two months that I've had it, I've had to do more work to it than I ever did to my 95. The appearance of the 00 is a lot better, I think, but I would stick with the 97 if I were you. My 95 really seemed to be a better car than my 00.

The '00s are more prone to the coil pack problem seen in '99s...more so in the '00s though from what I have read.

1st yr models usually won't be the best model of that generation.
