Help With 97 SE auto Maxima Ignition Coils

I have bought some replacement igntion coils (used) prolly should have got them new. but when i changed the bank closest to the firewall, the first one, the one closest to the passenger side, had no oil on it when I pulled it out. the other 2 on the back had oil all over them. i have no idea whether or not they are suppose to be covered with oil. also, where is the other set of igntion coils. as i understand it, the ones close to the firewall are the right-hand coils and the left hand would be on the radiator side. i looked all over but i cant find them. also, is the right hand set #4,5, and 6 or #1,2, and 3? I am gonna learn all this stuff eventually. any extra tips would be appreciated like continuity and trouble shooting. thanks

they are as follows:

1 3 5
2 4 6

the other set of coils are under the cover that says V6 300, just take that cover off and they'll be right there. as for the oil im not sure but i have found a lot of cars that have the oil when i got to change the coils/plugs, so i dont think that should be any problem. plus if the car is running fine i wouldnt worry about it. go to the site under and ull see the cover that im talking about. plus if ur really interested in learning about ur car that is a very helpfull site !!

There should not be any oil in the sparkplug cylinders. If there is, then the seals for the specific cylinder(s) is leaking.

This shouldn't be a big problem if it's just a little bit of oil getting in. However, if it's like a big pool in there, it could cause misfires. Make sure to get all the oil out before taking out the sparkplug or it may get into the firing chamber.

The only way to really fix this is to remove the valve cover and replace the cylinder seals and valve cover gasket.
