better but not quite right!!!

Ok my max has 100k on it. I bought it 3k ago
I have replaced
-oil mobil 1 5w 30 sythetic
-fram doudle guard ( which i later read are crap)
-ngk regular spark plugs from advance (are these the copper ones?)
I didnt have my spark plug gapper to check the gap so i
compared them against the iridiums that i took out of it
and the gap was close. then i read platinum and iridium plugs
arent gapped. could this be wrong then?
-fuel filter (nasty stuff came out of there, it was the original one i think)
-pcv valve
-engine coolant sensor ( kept getting code for engine coolant sensor
and rear heated O2)
-air filter
-cleaned throttle body (it was pretty dirty)
-use only chevron premium gas
-run some stp fuel injector cleaner through it
-cleaned battery terminals

All of these helped the car, but it still seems to have dead spots under acceleration. It even seems that they arent in the same spots and it doesnt do it all the time. I have put atleast 4 tanks of nothing but chevron premium in the car and vefore that it was brand x premium.

The car idles great and runs smooth. it just feels restricted. any ideas what to check next. I am going to get a voltage meter and check the KS. it is also getting about 25 mpg on the highway.

You should check the KS. It won't set of the CEL so check codes too. It's also possible that you have a partially working KS which might explain the inconsistency in power loss. I'm not too familiar with this, but you can find more info in the maxima.org 4th gen faqs. Good luck.

Check both of the above and then also check your coil packs with the multimeter.

If you're getting 25mpg though I don't think it'd be your KS...a bad KS would usually give you under 20mpg.

the KS and the O2 sensors are the only thing basically i havent cleaned or replaced so they are next.. but they are expensive. but not as expensive as those damn coil packs... im going home this weekend to visit and i will have to get out the volt meter
