Sound Upgrade Question

Hi everyone,
Has anyone out there connected a sub and an amp to the factory Bose setup???
I have a 98 with the 200W Bose, and I am afraid of blowing my speakers if my music is too loud. So I thought of installing amp+12" to handle the bass.
Has anyone done it or knows of it done? What are the results???

i have done that its easy, buy a 4/3/2 channel amp
cut the signal wires goin to the factory amp pods and connect those to the high-level inputs, u may have to branch them to 4 channels.....then us the part of the amp with the High-Pass filter for ur Bose Speakers, and use the 2 channels with the Low-pass filter for ur sub, u will have to brigde the low-pass channel to one, thats y u need a 4/3/2 channel amp, i suggest looking at an eclipse or planet audio amp

yes it can, as i did it. only problem is now i must figure out a way to isolate the lows and highs.
i like the oem bose setup, so i kept that shit! i have a 12w6v2 in the trunk wired directly to the back amp pob for the remote, and the - and + speaker wires for signal shot through a RCA converter for that Zeus amp that I grew so fond of!

YEAH, i have a 99gle with bose I just taped into the speaker wires and used a speaker to rca converter box (20 bucks) and just plug the amp up to that, I also got a amp that has remote bass control so i that i can control whats going on, i love it and dont worry about crooks breaking my windows to get my head unit.
