Problem: 97 max will not start, electrical stuff all works.

When the key is turned the starter makes no noise. Battery is new. Starter was taken to the shop and tested good.
Put the starter back in -- car started once but will not start again. I used a test light and when the key is turned there is power to the starter. I checked the relay(under dash), it clicks when the key is turned.
Try to start with the headlights on and they don't dim so I don't think the starter is pulling power.

Any ideas??

This might help someone else so I thought I would give the solution.

After having the starter tested for the third time and being told it was good, I replaced it anyway because it was the only thing left. New starter solved the problem.

I guess the bench testers at the parts store can't show everything.
