ok, ive searched before i made the topic..someone please give me an answer, can you or can you not swap in a 6 speed tranny from a '03 maxima to my '96? i know that with 240's you can swap bellhousings with the sr tranny and the ka tranny and youve got the sr 6 speed in your 240. can the same or anything like this ever been tried before with the maxima?

The 6-speed is cable operated, not rod operated. You'd have to change out the whole linkage.

It does bolt up (same bolt pattern) but I think the half-shaft lengths and ends might be different. It's been done before, look over on .org...
