Hi,
I changed my auto-locking hubs to manual locking on a '95 ford f150 because I was having problems with the autolocking hubs, and I spent a lot of time with the truck off-road. I wanted hubs that I could manually lock and KNOW they were locked. It was easy to do, and I'm sure you could go the other direction if you wanted.
