Ok, I've got a 1996 P/U with a Check engine light that just won't go off. I did manage to get a friend to retrieve the codes once and I'm changing the necessary parts (O2 sensor and Evap Canister), but I won't have that option again.
So, how do I reset the light? Unhooking the battery for nearly 24 hours did not work, using the process outlined here:
