I'm from Mexico & here, there were just FWD since November 2005 (different markets), but +/- same equippment than at Canadian X-Trail, adding some ideas to Stephen answer:

I've no idea about Acura's power or weight, but at Sea Level (I live at ~2,000mts above sea level) It's way to easy to burn tires, I've drove to Southern Texas (2,500kms round trip with multiple height changes), with some charge & I never experienced any lack of power.

There's a Nudge bar available here in Mexico, the main problem will be shippment (I can take it to South Texas & ship from there) but anyway it'll be a more or less expensive.
You can travel here & return with it installed, I can help you so you don't have to wait for order arrival (by the way, it's a Nissan Mexico Accesory)
