Like the wiring diagram pin-out schematic says, pin "K" is the ground wire. Connect that to the black wire from the new stereo and/or the new stereo's metal case. About the wires that say "do not use", one is likely the stock dimmer circuit that makes the stereo display dim along with the dash lights. Dunno about the other one, but it would seem that you've found the wire for the dimmer circuit and shorted it out by connecting the wrong wire to it. Look in your fuse panel for a popped dash/guages fuse.
