Hey, If you are talking about the flex tube coming from the air tube (above radiator) then you are totally fine. Mine has been gone since 3 months after buying truck in 95. Little noisier. You may not want to ford streams this way. There is a better chance of water injestion but I have never had a problem with it. If you find a way to pipe in cooler air (ie move radiator overflow) post a pic. Been trying to figure this one out for a while. The stock intake muffler was totally restrictive especially at higher rpms.
