no! 1000 will not give you back a shine. if you follow it by 2000 or higher it will. but i highly recomend against this. unless you know exactly what your are doing just buff it with a rotary. if you sand and sand to hard/ to much on any kind of edge or corner you will go strait through the clear coat and maybe even the paint
