My fiancee bought an I30 new in 2000 that did the same thing.
At 14,000 miles the rotors were warped. She took it in for warranty work. The dealer refused to do it under warranty, said it was driver abuse.
Funny on her other cars, the brakes lasted 75,000 miles.
The dealer claimed she had ridden the brakes too hard.
I told her to slam the dealer into small claims court. Now she wishes she had taken my advice.
The dealer turned the rotors but the pads were ok.
Since then, every 14,000 miles this has happened again.
The pads last 50,000 miles, but she has had the rotors turned 4 times.
If you will search under this topic in the Maxima section you will see this discussion.
A guy posted up that this happened a lot, the dealers knew all about it and just bs'ed the customers. The problem was, according to this guy, that the rotors were too small, and he has a retrofit that he recommends with larger rotors.
