This is what I would do if I were you. Provided you can get the other KA24E at a reasonable price, I'd rebuild it before you install it or, check in your area for a reputable machine shop that knows the engine well and have them do a few performance mods to it such as shaving the head (increases compression) and possibly putting a more aggressive cam in it. That way you can still drive the truck on the original engine and then swap it out in a weekend plus it gives you ample time to gather all of the go-fast parts you want without having to shell out a bunch of money all at once. Just food for thought. Oh yeah, you could also sell your still running KA24E to recover some of your money.
