If you replace the springs, you'll have to replace the struts. If you don't, you'll blow the stock ones in short order. Actually, you may already have considering you cut the stock springs down. If you can't afford all of this at once, I'd recommend you just try and buy a used pair of front springs (and struts if needed) off someone within the community.
