Well, it all depends on the hill in question. Mine is not very powerful on hills or anywhere else and it downshifts on a moderate hill if I have the cruise control on. One other problem I am considering is the possibility of a bad catalytic convertor as the fuel economy has gradually declined. I have observed as much as 45 mpg on a trip to Daytona Beach a few months ago too, cruising between 65 and 90 mph the whole way.
