I have a boost controller on mine. The wastegate being internal is how all turbo cars come from the factory , it simply means the bypass valve is located inside the main piping in the turbo area , as opposed to taking an external route right off the exhaust manifold as with aftermarket wastgates , which dump into a seperate tube which rejoins the main exhaust further downstream , or in some cases is simply dumped to open air.
It means the wastgate valve itself is internal , but the actuator is still external , and that's what you attach the boost controller to.
