the clicking, does it change with rpm?

my b11 will get loud when i get about 1qt low. that's when i know to put more oil in. I don't recommend doing that often. I also notice that when my oil gets low i get surges in pressure where it goes 50 lbs - 70 lbs - 50 lbs when the sump is totally dry but i have a non standard oiler setup and can get away with being dumb.

you might also need to adjust valve clearances, mine gets the angry sweing machine noise when the valves need adjusting.

hopefully you arent hearing the oil depletion clicking that you sometimes get if you drive the car for a while and park for an hour or 2 and start the car while the block is warm and all the oil has left the head, I got mine to hte point where it only does that very briefly.
