Suspension + body lift question

Is a 3 inch suspension lift plus a 3 inch body lift equal to six inches of lift or does it only equal 3 inches of lift?

It gives you 6" of tire clearance, so I'd say it's a 3+3=6 situation. At least, when standing still.

What is required or reccomended if you do this lift and then don't change the tires? Is the entire process worthless? I have an 05 SE 4x4, with the regular 16" tires. I Like my rims, hate my tires... I just want it to sit up and give me a little more ground clearance for the offroad. I'm not going rock climbing or anything insane, just want a little more lift?

Is keeping my factory rims possible with doing the 6" lift?

you should be fine with ur rims...u just have to get tires that fit the 16 inch rims, and get the right backspacing, and everything...i think

I would at least get wheel spacers to push teh wheels out a bit for stability and look. 6" higher with the same track width just looks bad IMHO.

Of course. You don't have to change wheels and tires to put lift kits on. It's just that most people lift their vehicle with the idea of putting on larger tires as an initial concern.
