I have a 97 Nissan XE truck, 4 cyl., and my check engine light is on. Ihad it read by a service station and the code stated " closed throttle position switch malfunction" and " throttle/pedal position sensor/switch a circuit malfunction".
I need help locating this switch so I can replace it, and hopefully kill that accursed check engine light and get my truck inspected.

It's on your trottle body. The trottle butterfly has the throt. cable on one side, and the T.P.S. on the other. You'll have to remove the air cleaner assembly to really reach it. Just don't yank on anything, make sure everything is unpluged before you lift the filter housing out. Then you should be able to clean and service the T.P.S..

Thanks for your help dude, but after cleaning it, etc. I am of a mind to put it in the shop. Gotta get that and a couple of other things repaired at the dreaded high priced Nissan shop ........... Thanks a million for yer help !
