Question Looking 2 Buy a Nissan 4x4 SUV/Truck.

Hi There,
Extreme Nissan Newbie. The girlfriend's little sister is looking to get a new car. She wants it to be very off-road capable will be driving on rocks, mud, snow, and its a daily driver. Curious on brands/reviews of Suspension and/or Body Lift, Exhaust, LSDs/Lockers, Etc.

Here budget is 20k. We are thinking used 2003-2004 Frontier or Xterra v6 4x4. We are leaning towards Xterras right now.

Anything we need to keep in mind? What types of parts are made for these cars? Where is the best place to start looking for parts... what are the best brands.

Any problem areas we should be aware of?

Thanks In Advance,
Brendan

Hard Core

With a budget like that she can just start shopping for the types of aftermarket parts she'll want to put on her truck. Tires, suspension lifts, diff lockers, fancy winch mount bumpers, roof racks, bolt on power mods (a supercharger might be the best investment), all sorts of goodies. Just start thinking of what you/she will want to do to any truck and shop for parts online. whichever truck hase the best reputation and ratings and has the most available aftermarket stuff will be the winner. May I suggest that she buy ANY Nissan with 4wd.

Good luck on the search, and remind her to try not to be romanced by shiney trucks with fresh paint and cool graphics. Shine sells, but it doesn't run any better than dirt.

Also keep in mind that if it already looks "Hard Core", than it's probably already been USED "Hard Core".

Again, good luck
Johnny
