Lift blocks.

well today i went to auto zone and got 2'' lift blocks to put under the rear leave springs..well after i got home and realized that i had square u-bolts i had to run back and get a kit with just 4 square u -bolts. so i took the tires off, took out the old u bolts, started jacking up the leave springs to fit a block underneath and realized that there is the freakin e-brake line is about an inch above the leave springs. so i fiddled around for about 2 hours trying to figure out how to do this. i tried to take the brake off from the drum but the pin wouldnt come out, i opened the drum and found the 2 bolts but couldnt get anything to them, i tryed to take the leave springs out to try runnin the wire underneath the leave springs but the other side of the bolt was welded...god only knows. so if anyone out there knows how to do this it would be greatly appreciated b/c i wanted to see if anyone on here knew how b4 i took them back. i have a 97 hardbody, 4x4, 2.4L....thanks

You have to take apart the drums and remove the e-brake cables, in that case. Dig in. I hope you have a Chilton's manual.

Yeha. Take apart the brakes so you can remove the e-brake cable. That's about as simple as it gets.

It's not that bad. Just do it one side at a time, so you can look at the other brake setup and make sure it goes back together allright.
