Long story, basically the ignition switch was left on for a long period of time. When I got to the car I could smell that something burned under the dash. Also the ignition lights on the dash remain on even with the key in "off" and removed. However, there is no power to the ignition system. The car will crank but will not start. The ignition switch checks out fine. The fuel pump relay actuates. It appears that something under the dash burned up so power does not reach the coil, however something in the circuit is backfeeding to the ignition lights on the dash (permanently). If I could get a hold of a full wiring diagram I could probably track down the problem. Why are wiring diagrams so hard to get a hold of?
