OK heres wath i did to increase the fueling of the E16i TBI to get a nice ratio (almost overfueled lol) on the e15t....
Grocery list :
- around 7 feet of dual cable (18)
- pot .. no you smart ass !! a potentiometer? like a volume pot
- tape
- cutter
ok the instruction... since we all know that fueling is calculated with the temperature sensor (one located behind manifold) i tauth about cheating the Ecu to tell it the engine is way colder than it really is by adding a resistance between the sensor and the ecu... tough of that a bit more i need something thats adjustable , so the pot will serve to adjust the reading... get yourself the cutter and cut the wire that goes to ecu under the passenger seat and put the pot between the 2 wires...(note : you can add some wires to get to pot else where so you can play with it when running and god knows how much youll have to play with it between days) next thing youll notice is when you cut the reading engine RPM increases on idle ... at full richness it will go up to 3000-3500 on warm start (this without the idle switch plugued)... so now i said to myself i need that switch to bypass the pot when i released the throttle so it would idle nicely around 800rpm .... So i cutted the switch wiring at the plug (engine bay)
and got 2 new wire running to the ecu pluged at each side of the pot ... still fallowing ???....
ok simple : when it activated the Ecu read the value of the temp sensor, when throttle pressed it read the reduced value with the pot in between ?? capitch ??
simpler dont do it !! lol
ok details : the wire from the temp sensor is #23.. br/w middle plug.. (ill precise tomorrow as i left the paper in the car duh)
the idle switch is the wires that plug into the TPS and not the one that got wire from the tps ... it as only 2 wires ...
the only thing, youll have to adjust the TPS so it will actually be in the right position when the throttle is released (quite easy when engine is idling at 3000 and you see it going down to 700rpm...
From day to day engine temp can fluctuate and that when youll play with the pot... when it reache normal temps is the best to get a fixed value on it too... down side : letting the engine warm up
Enjoy
