Got my ride back
Yes finally, it's in my posession. What a run-around. But it was worth it for all the free shit the mech. had to throw in.
Now I'm breaking it in slowly, and go back next week so they can retorque the head, and change the oil.
Few problems;
1) Still leaking coolant, out of the hard pipe out back. Need to have it welded.
2) Lifter is still clicking. Apparently you can't get lifters down here.
3) At the last minute they replaced the thermostat. (only told them like 12 times to replace it so that one is my bad) Now the temp. gauge never gets over half. most of the time it sits there like 1/4-1/3 of the way up. Is this gonna fuck up my break-in?
Good news;
1) idles much better.
2) Got a crazy thick-ass brand new radiator free. My mech. says it's a "special' one. Only like 1 in 20-30 to come off the line had this one. Any ideas which?
3) New dog-bone mounts. So stable, no stick wobble at all. Can't wait to launch it.
4)throw out bearing fixed. Actually the box was running about a quart low. TOB was fine. WTF?
OK thats probably too much. Next it's fluids (all around) and pads, and off to the track.
They guy mentioned that a '80's skyline sedan, which I think is equivalent to a box-shaped Maxima (up to 85 or so ??) Has brakes that will swap onto B12. Like to know about this in the near future.
Peace B
