In the latest "Road and Track" magazine, September 2003,
I came across an article about the new 2004 ASL Garaiya, some werid company, who builds SuperCars, however this super car is powered by an
SR20VE! at 204 bhp and 151 lb.-ft. with an 6-speed standard tranny!
Just thought you SR20 freaks would love to hear about this car, being powered by the VE! The price is about $55,000 in the U.S. and only 10-20 will be sold per year.
Quote:
The Garaiya is a small sports machine along the lines of the Elise and the Miata. Being powered by the Nissan 2.0L
SR20VE DOHC pushing 204 horsepower at 7200RPM and 151 ft-lbs of torque at 5200RPM, mounted mid engine, those figures alone may not make it seem powerful. Factor in the 2045lb curb weight, however, and you have something that - according to Road and Track Magazine - can reach 0 to 60 m.p.h. in all but 5 seconds. That blistering power will be transferred through an as of yet unknown 6-speed manual tranny
