The one with the 3/8" out faces towards the bellhousing, IIRC. I just spent the summer doing 3 clutches and even I feel dumb right now

. I'm pretty sure that I put the flat side on facing the flywheel, so yea, I think I am right. Hopefully someone else will answer and confirm what I think is right.
