If you don't like the stock cat, at least replace it with a high-flow rather than tossing it completely. They aren't that restrictive, especially on an engine that pumps maybe 125cfm peak (stock). A seriously built E16 (95%VE at 7200rpm) wouldn't break 200cfm.
