Thanks guys for the ideas on boring out the ga... hadnt heard of the thin walled block problem before. I will likely give the spare ga a try anyway, just to see if its possible and to have something different. That engine only cost me about AU$120 or about US$70-80 so I am not too worried about it. It's my first "project" and I'd love to try something different.

(if only there was a VVL head for the ga... )
