Remember what I told you, the chin can only slip on the intake cam. So pull your #1 plug out and find TDC on the compression stroke. Then put your intake cam back where it belongs, it should naturally slip into the right timing, at least mine did. Anyway, we're three for three on the tensioner not solving our startup clatter. I noticed slack in my chain when I put my tensioner in, so I'm going to have to say that a new chain might solve the problem. But I won't be the one to find out, because I'll be swapping in a DET instead, and I'll be putting a new chain on it before it goes in.
