You should be getting a hot blue spark. Do you have the FSM? It details how to work your way backward through the ignition system to determine where the failure is. Did you check for a spark out of the center wire from the coil directly? There are specs in the FSM for what the resistance of the coil should be, among other things. I would look at the orange spark issue before spending too much time looking into fuel. Also you might want to take a look over at zcar.com they have a ton of information posted about issues like this specifically for your car.
