Turning the steering wheel produces an intermittent metal on metal squeal. It appears to be the horn ring and the post contact on the underside of the steering wheel. I lubed it with di-electric grease but its still there. any ideas?

One of my trucks is doing the same thing, but I haven't tried to fix it because I don't feel like taking the cover off the steering wheel and getting hit in the face by a airbag...Each time I turn the wheel it's like a metal clunk. Been wondering what it was, but I only put around 2000 miles a year on that truck, so it wasn't/isn't very high on the priority list
