I'm just going by what the others have said on b15sentra.net, so no confirmation yet. I thought it was strange also. My old RX-7 was cartridge I believe and I did the same unscrew and replace. I hope this is the case. The rears are a direct replacement. The 2002+ SE-R and SE-R spec-v, and GXE have the QR25 in it. That's what the FSM says. The only two engines out now are the QG18DE and QR25DE.

And what the hell.. you have to cut the strut to get the cartridge out... how gay! The 3rd gen max uses cartridge replacements for its rear struts (last mod meet) and there was just a screw on top that held the cartridge in the strut tower.
